FAQ

Questions we get before every install

Short answers to the things office managers ask on the first call.

How long does an office installation take?

A single-floor office with existing cabling is usually surveyed in one visit and installed in one day. Multi-floor projects with new cable runs typically take three to five working days, scheduled outside your busiest hours.

Do we need new cabling or can you use what is there?

If the existing runs pass testing and support the speeds you need, we reuse them. Where cable is damaged, undersized or not terminated on a patch panel, we quote for replacement before any work starts.

Why UniFi instead of consumer mesh routers?

UniFi gear is designed for multiple access points, Power over Ethernet, VLAN separation and central management. Consumer mesh systems work well in flats but struggle once you have more than twenty devices, a guest network and cameras on the same connection.

Can you take over a network someone else installed?

Yes. We audit the existing hardware, document what is there and then either tune it or recommend replacements. You get the audit findings whether or not you continue with us.

What happens after installation if something fails?

Contract clients are monitored around the clock, with alerts going to our support engineer and a four-hour response target during office hours. Hardware failures are handled under the manufacturer warranty, and we keep spare access points for urgent swaps.
